SLReviewFlow publishing terms

These terms apply when you publish a review or turn on a public researcher profile. They say what you confirm, what the licence allows, and how a page is withdrawn, hidden or reported.

What publishing means

Publishing puts a summary of one finalised release of your review on a public page at slreviewflow.com/reviews/…, under your public researcher profile at slreviewflow.com/researchers/…. Anyone can read these pages without an account, and search engines may index them. Your project itself stays private.

What you confirm

  • You are an author of the review, and every co-author named on the page has agreed to it being published.
  • You have the right to publish what the page shows, and it does not break a confidentiality agreement, a funder or journal embargo, or anyone else’s rights.
  • The review question, eligibility criteria and search details describe the work truthfully.
  • Your profile photo, if you add one, is a photo of you that you have the right to use. Administrators may remove a photo that is not of you or is unsuitable for a professional profile.

What is published

A published page is a frozen copy of the release you chose. Later changes to your project do not change it. It always shows the title, review questions, eligibility criteria and PRISMA flow diagram with its counts, and only the sections you tick: searches, exact search queries, included studies and the reporting checklist.

Your name, affiliation and the profile fields you choose are copied onto the page when you publish. Your public profile always shows your current details.

What is never published

Record abstracts, screening and eligibility decisions on individual records, lists of excluded records, notes, full-text PDFs and email addresses are never put on a public page. Included studies are listed by their bibliographic details and DOI only.

Licence

You choose the licence for the summary when you publish. It covers the text and data the page shows, such as the questions, criteria, flow diagram counts and search appendix.

  • CC BY 4.0 (the default): anyone may copy, adapt and reuse the summary for any purpose, including commercial use, as long as they credit the authors and link to the page.
  • CC BY-NC 4.0: the same, but not for commercial purposes.

The licence does not cover the studies the review includes; they keep their own copyright. Creative Commons licences cannot be withdrawn for copies people have already made, so a page you later withdraw may still exist in copies made while it was public.

Your public profile

Your public profile is off until you turn it on in Profile, or until you publish your first review. It always shows your full name and affiliation, and only the other fields you choose, such as your position or confirmed ORCID iD. Turning it off hides the profile page; published reviews stay public.

Withdrawing a review

You can unpublish a review at any time from Report → Releases. Its address then shows a short notice with the date it was withdrawn and your reason, if you give one, so existing citations still lead somewhere. The release itself is kept in your project. Search engines are told to drop the page, but copies they or others already hold are outside our control.

When administrators hide a page

SLReviewFlow administrators do not review pages before they are published. They may hide a page that breaks these terms, for example after a report of copyright infringement, personal data or content a co-author did not agree to. A hidden page answers “page not found” and leaves search listings. Every hide and restore is recorded with a note in the administration history, and we will tell you why at the email address you sign in with.

Report a concern

If a published page shows something it should not, use Report a concern at the foot of the page, or email the administrators at accounts@slreviewflow.com. Include the page address and what the concern is. If you are a co-author, say so.

Changes and contact

If we change these terms, we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect; pages already published keep the licence they were published under. How we handle personal data is set out in the privacy policy. Questions go to Research Mind LLC at accounts@slreviewflow.com.
